Remember the old movies where you saw confetti and streamers coming from the ship and well-wishers bidding their friends and family bon voyage?
Or maybe you even participated in such a send-off. Princess is now offering the Bon Voyage Experience (SM) to bring back the old times and allow friends and families
to give a proper send-off to their cruisers.
The Process
Forget about the streamers and confetti; this program is even better. Booked passengers will receive info about this innovative new program and their guests may book into the program starting at 120 days prior to the sailing date. Guests will, of course, need to provide security information to gain access to the ship. Passengers and guests participating in the program will receive priority boarding and the guests will be on board for about four hours. There is a cost of $39 associated with this opportunity, but that includes lunch with wine on board, a ship tour, and a photo. The best part is that the $39 may be applied to a future Princess cruise.
This is a wonderful program for those who might not understand why their friends and family get so excited about cruising. The program limits guests to 50, so reservations need to be made early.
Visits are available in certain US ports and on certain ships and will be rolled out starting in March.
