Almost all of the cruise lines have now instituted fuel surcharges. NCL recently joined the bandwagon, putting a $7.00 charge into effect. That’s $4.00 more per day for two people than other cruiselines, but the charge only applies to cruises booked after December 1, 2007. Unlike the other lines that are charging for any cruise departing February 1, 2008 or after whether paid for or not, NCL is not charging the fee as long as you book by December 1, 2007 regardless of the departure date. Consider this carefully when booking your next cruise; it could save you $70 per week, per person had you planned on sailing with a cruise line that charged the lower $5.00 per day rate. December 1 is rapidly approaching, so choose those dates now.
